About Near

Near was established in January 2025 after Jordan and Madi received multiple prophetic words and felt the Lord stirring their hearts to launch a ministry centered on one simple yet profound truth: God is near.

In Mark 1:15, Jesus declares, “The Kingdom of God has come near.” We believe this was more than a proclamation—it was an invitation. An invitation for the world to be awakened to the reality of God's presence, His love, and His desire for intimacy with His people.

At Near, our mission is to help people encounter the love of Jesus and come into the understanding of how near He truly is. We believe that when people realize God's nearness, it transforms everything—identity, purpose, and the way we live out our faith.

our heart & mission

We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20), making disciples of all nations.

Our heart beats for:

Young Adults – Raising up a generation that knows God intimately and walks in His presence.

Outreach & Missions – Carrying the message of Jesus' love and nearness to the lost, the broken, and the unreached.

Discipleship – Equipping believers to grow in faith, walk in their calling, and disciple others in return.

Near is more than a ministry—it’s a movement. A movement calling people to wake up to the reality that God is not distant, He is near.

Our Story

  • Jordan

I’m Jordan, the co-founder of NEAR and Young Adults Movement. I grew up in Stockton, California, and when I was four years old, my family experienced a radical encounter with Jesus that forever changed the direction of my life and the lives of my brothers.

With 20 years of experience in ministry, I’m passionate about carrying Kingdom transformation into all spaces. Whether it be reaching the lost, equipping the saints, or empowering believers to walk confidently in their God-given identity, I am here for it. I had the privilege of working for and traveling with Sean and Christa Smith for several years, which was a formative season in my ministry call. Over the past eight years, I’ve had the honor of mentoring young adults, helping them realize the promises of God for their life. I have a deep love for prophetic ministry and training people in how to recognize the voice of God. I take God at His Word that all sheep hear His voice and you can too.

Outside of ministry, I’ve always been involved in sports and still spend some nights playing slow-pitch softball. This May, I’m excited to begin serving as a chaplain for the WNBA’s Golden State Valkyries, where I’ll have the privilege of supporting athletes and sharing the love of God in that arena. As a certified life coach, I feel deeply honored to help people discover their true potential in God.

My wife, Madi, and I reside in the Bay Area with our two pups, Kingston and Chance (they are the best, I am not biased at all). We’re eagerly believing for the day we’ll welcome a baby Gonzales into our family. We are incredibly passionate about family, given AND chosen. Through our lives, we long to see transformation happen in every heart we reach.

  • Madi

Hi friend. My name is Madi. I grew up in the East Bay Area, where family and love of sports shaped most of my early years. I was loosely raised Catholic, so I partially knew of God, but I didn’t really know God. In the middle of the pain and uncertainty in my teen years, I started to realize I was in need of something (or someone) far greater than what the world could offer. I was weary, broken, and completely hopeless, but Jesus came to my rescue. When I let go of what I knew, and when I let the One who created my heart to really hold my heart, everything began to change.

Jesus didn’t just save me—He completely transformed me. I’ve experienced profound healing—physically, emotionally, spiritually, relationally—healing that seems CRAZY to the world.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Northwest University, but my true passion? A  life dedicated to awakening the world to God’s nearness alongside my husband. In 2017, I met my amazing other half, Jordan. Yes, I made the first move (ladies, take notes… kidding… or not LOL). We got married in 2020, and together we’ve spent our years contending for the “more” of God. Our marriage is a beautiful reminder of the importance of trusting God with e v e r y t h i n g. We believe Holy Spirit has set us apart to help others live passionately in the freedom that Jesus bought for us.

Honorary hobbies: Watching Survivor (full blown fantasy draft and everything), coaching volleyball (2024 national champs :’) still so proud), tearing up the pickleball court, and all things coffee (shoutout Gratitude Coffee Bar).
